Once upon a time the government had a vast scrap yard in the middle of a desert. Congress said, "Someone may steal from it at night."

So they created a night watchman position and hired a person for the job.

Then Congress said, "How does the watchman do his job without
instruction?" So they created a planning department and hired two
people, one person to write the instructions and one person to do
time studies.

Then Congress said, "How will we know the night watchman is doing the tasks correctly?" So they created a Quality Control department and hired two people, one to do the studies and one to write the reports.

Then Congress said, "How are these people going to get paid?" So
they created two positions, a time keeper and a payroll officer, then
hired two people.

Then Congress said, "Who will be accountable for all of these people?"

So they created an administrative section and hired three people, an
Administrative Officer, an Assistant Administrative Officer, and a
Legal Secretary.

Then Congress said, "We have had this command in operation for one year, and we are $918,000 over budget. We must cut back." So they laid off the night watchman.

AND, NOW, IT'S 2010 -- 33 YEARS LATER -- AND THE BUDGET FOR THIS "NECESSARY" DEPARTMENT IS AT $24.2 BILLION A YEAR. IT HAS 16,000 FEDERAL EMPLOYEES AND APPROXIMATELY 100,000 CONTRACT EMPLOYEES, AND LOOK AT THE JOB IT HAS DONE! THIS IS WHERE YOU SLAP YOUR FOREHEAD AND SAY, "WHAT WERE THEY THINKING?"

* Augusta , GA *

*Orville Smith, a store manager for Best Buy in Augusta , Georgia , told police he observed a male customer, later identified as Tyrone Jackson of Augusta , on surveillance cameras putting a laptop computer under his jacket... When confronted the man became irate, knocked down an employee, drew a knife and ran for the door.*

*Outside on the sidewalk were four Marines collecting toys for the "Toys for Tots" program. Smith said the Marines stopped the man, but he stabbed one of the Marines, Cpl. Phillip Duggan, in the back; the injury did not appear to be severe.*

*After Police and an ambulance arrived at the scene Cpl. Duggan was transported for treatment.

The subject was also transported to the local hospital with two broken arms, a broken ankle, a broken leg, several missing teeth, possible broken ribs, multiple contusions, assorted lacerations, a broken nose and a broken jaw...injuries he sustained when he slipped and fell off of the curb after stabbing the Marine.*

Now that was a well written Police report.

(I have no clue how true this story is, but it sounds true. Either way, that's just funny as hell, and yeah, I can see that happening.)

The Department of Energy was formed after the oil crisis on August 8, 1977 by President Jimmy Carter's signing of legislation, in order to get America OFF of foreign oil.

The nationwide average tax on gasoline of 47.4 per gallon has remained relatively unchanged since October 2009.

The federal tax on gasoline is 18.4 cents per gallon.
The average state gasoline excise tax is around 18.5 cents.
Other taxes (such as applicable sales taxes, gross receipts taxes, oil inspection fees, county and local taxes, underground storage tank fees and other miscellaneous environmental fees) are approximately 10.5 cents per gallon.
Adding these taxes and fees to the state excise taxes results in a n average state and local tax of 29 cents per gallon.

President Obama's budget for the Department of Energy for FY 2010, was $26.4 billion dollars.

As part of As part of President Obama's $789 billion economic stimulus package in the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, Congress provided the Department of Energy with an additional $38.3 billion dollars.

And we are ZERO closer to being off foreign oil that we were when President Carter signed the legislation in 1977 creating the Dept of Energy in the first place.

What exactly has gotten bigger then?

Well, the cost of gasoline, obviously.

And more taxes to pay for more Fed-Gov workers and programs and for the Fed-Gov to get even larger and more intrusive.

And in the meantime, the DOE doesn't provide a single drop of oil or produce a single watt of energy.

Yet the VERY FIRST line on the Department of Energy's website, Energy.Gov, says, and I quote:

What was your effective tax rate in 2010? It's highly unlikely it was 3.6 percent, says Christopher Bergin of Tax.com.

"The truth is multinational corporations have ways to transfer profits (and jobs) oversees that the rest of us, including domestic corporations, don't have," Bergin writes. "For example, they can use (and maybe abuse) the transfer pricing rules and shift a good deal of their tax responsibilities onto the rest of us."

It's not a matter of the rate itself, it's the huge discrepancies between corporations. While GE's (GE) effective corporate tax rate when averaged over the past three years is a paltry 3.6 percent, companies such as Wal-Mart (WMT) and Target (TGT) paid an effective tax rate well into the 30-percent range.

Several things about this particular email I thought was funny.

First is the return email address moritz12342@web.de The .de which designates this came from a German website or email provider.

Then the ending address from 'Capt. John' at j.capt1001@yahoo.com.hk The .hk which indicates Hong Kong.

But then, the really funny and best part if this, the body of the email itself. The person sending this purports to be a Captain in the United States Marine Corps. Which means he would have at least 4 years of college and understands basic English and language writing skills. NONE of which are present here in this email.

Just too funny. I guess the funniest part, is they actually expect someone to fall for this line of bullcrap. Maybe because they think they are using the name of the Marine Corps it will fool people.

I guess the sad part is, it probably will fool someone. And if someone is foolish enough to get taken in by this childish and oh so amateurish piece of obvious scam, guess they too should have gone to school and learned better reading, writing and language skills.

Never seems to fail; whenever a tragedy occurs like the one in Tucson the anti-gun-liberal politicians and pundits start with the 'guns cause this that or the other'.

Of course this time around, it's also supposedly the fault of every one from Sarah Palin, the TEA Party, Conservatives, to Glenn Beck to God's knows who else.

EXCEPT of course the idiot nutball who pulled the trigger.

This guy was a nutcase, plain and simple. Regardless of what political party he belonged to, regardless of whom he read and apparently believed in; including the Communist Manifesto and Hitler's Mein Kampf.

But let's take all the political rhetoric out of this for a moment and look at the actual facts about guns and killing innocent people.

Unfortunately we do not live in a Utopian World. Never will. There really are mean, evil, nasty people in the world. People who would kill you with or without a gun just for your cell phone or the few pennies in your pocket.

Point being here boys and girls, an armed society is a polite society. And if you have some nutcase like this current one who get's his hands on a firearm, well, that's not much different than a nutcase like Iran getting its hands on a nuclear bomb, or some gangbanger using a stick or rock. The only way to protect yourself from some dirtbag who has a gun and is intent on causing you harm, is to be able to defend yourself with your own gun. Period. Because by the time the cops get there, it's all over except for the bleeding. Normally, your blood.

But like I mentioned, let's look at a few FACTS about causes of innocent people being killed. (BTW, links to the following statistics are immediately below these statistics.

According the the ATF, there are around 260 million firearms in the United States.

I would have to say that out of those 260,000,000 guns, chances are pretty damned good, that 259,999,990+ didn't kill anyone on the day this nutball started shooting up Tucson, Arizona.

Or another way to look at it,
*In 2006, guns committed 12,791 murders. Yeah, a lot to be sure. However:

*In 2006, 42,642 people died in car accidents.

*In 2006, there were 13,470 fatalities in crashes involving an alcohol-impaired driver (BAC of .08 or higher) – 32 percent of total traffic fatalities for the year.

*According to the CDC 443,000 people die year because of tobacco smoke. (including deaths from secondhand smoke)

*According to the CDC 49,400 deaths per year from secondhand smoke exposure.

*An average of 195,000 Americans died annually in 2000, 2001 and 2002 because of potentially preventable, in-hospital medical errors, according to a study of 37 million patient records conducted by HealthGrades, a healthcare quality company.

Consequenses of DADT Repeal

There are always consequences whenever Congress and the Fed-Gov passes any law that tries to force social engineering on Americans. Many times, unintended consequences.

According to Wikipedia, Social Engineering is a discipline in political science that refers to efforts to influence popular attitudes and social behaviors on a large scale, whether by governments or private groups.

Back in the 1920s, the government of the Soviet Union used Social Engineering to fundamentally alter the behavior and ideals of Soviet citizens in order to create the New Soviet Communist Citizen. We can see now how well that worked over the long haul.

Today, it appears the US Fed-Gov is using Social Engineering in order to have homosexuals to openly serve in the US Military.

The Fed-Gov has made it law saying that openly gay people have a RIGHT to serve in the US Military.

This is despite the fact that no where in the United States Constitution does is say that anyone be they; gay, straight, white, black, fat, skinny, junkies, alcoholics, or clean and sober, Christian, Muslim or anyone else has a Constitutional right to serve in the US Military.

It kinda sounds to me like the Fed-Gov is working on the premise is that homosexuals want to be known primarily by their sexual identity. Personally, I seriously doubt that to be the case.

If gays actually wanted to be know by their sexual identity, vast numbers of gay people in civilian life would not go so far as to hide the fact they are gay. College students would not be committing suicide because they were exposed as being gay.

Now I realize that many people are openly gay and would not have it any other way. That's all find and dandy. Many others obviously prefer to not to be open about their sexual orientation.

However the unintended consequence of this particular move of US Fed-Gov social engineering will be to expose those private sexual orientations with the entire world and treat it as his or her primary attribute.

I honestly do not believe the Fed-Gov gives a ratsass about the privacy or the feelings of those gays who are currently serving in the Military and who are serving because they want to be identified as Soldiers, Sailors and Airmen above all else. Including before they are identified as being homosexual.

But the Fed-Gov is now insisting that we accept a person because of their sexual orientation first, before we accept them as anything else.

Seems that is completely opposite of what the so-called purpose of the Don't Ask Don't Tell repeal was 'intended' to do.

Oh I know, I read in various forums all the time about how gays have always been in the US Military. I don't know about anyone else, but when I was in the Marine Corps I didn't personally know any. And if anyone else knew for a fact someone was gay, no one said they did. They were not named. Not that I would know what kinda difference it would make if someone could point out to me now who was or was not gay.

Guess a lot of us who served in the Military simply were simply not perceptive enough to figure out who was or was not gay. Be it the men I served with, or the Officers and Senior NCO's above me.

So what difference did/does it make?

When I look back at my Commanding Officers, I see them as Marines. As Leaders. They were my Marine Corps Senior NCO's and Marine Corps Commanding Officers. THIS is who and what they were. Not only to myself by to my fellow Marines.

These leaders lead Marines. They were able to lead because they were first and foremost Marines and our Leaders. Because they had the unwavering trust of the men (and/or women) in their command. Marines and Leaders, FIRST.

But what changes now?

Now if a military leader is openly gay, he is not being defined FIRST by being a Marine and a Leader, but by being gay.

He will not be simply a Marine Captain or Major, but a Gay Marine Captain or a Gay Major. The gay officer obviously will not want to be known as, or looked at as the 'gay' captain. The company sergeant major will not want to be known first as the 'gay' company sergeant major. But they will be.

Should it make a difference? Nope. Will it? For a fact it damn sure will in the real world. The real world outside of Washington politics and liberal politically correct bullchit anyway.

Why? Because plain and simple, when a leader of men, and especially combat troops, is defined first by being gay, then by his being a soldier, that 'leader' is going to be less effective at leading those in his command.

Why? Because leaders cannot afford to lose even the smallest amount of trust from those whom they lead. Because in the end, if that trust is not 100% secure between a leader and his command, the leader will be less effective at doing his job. Plain and simple fact.

And in a combat unit, that loss in effectiveness, that smallest amount of loss in trust, will eventually cause lives.

Because it is all about who YOU are. And now, thanks to the idiots in Washington and the politically correct crowd, homosexuals in the military will be first known as gay, then as a soldier.

Before the repeal of DADT, it was all about FIRST being a soldier. That is who and what you were, a soldier, a leader, first.

In the end, American lives will be lost in order to satisfy the social engineering by the selfish and politically corrupt US Fed-Gov and Congress.

As millions of my fellow Americans, I am outraged, devastated and extremely angry by the democrat's unbelievable arrogance and disdain for We The People. Despite our screaming "no" from the rooftops, they forced Obamacare down our throats. Please forgive me for using the following crude saying, but it is very appropriate to describe what has happened. "Don't urinate on me and tell me it's raining." Democrats say their mission is to give all Americans health care. The democrats are lying. Signing Obamacare into law against our will and the Constitution is tyranny and step one of their hideous goal of having as many Americans as possible dependent on government, thus controlling our lives and fulfilling Obama's promise to fundamentally transform America .

I keep asking myself. How did our government move so far from the normal procedures of getting things done? Could a white president have so successfully pulled off shredding the Constitution to further his agenda? I think not.

Ironically, proving America is completely the opposite of the evil racist country they relentlessly accuse her of being, progressives used America 's goodness, guilt and sense of fair play against her.. In their quest to destroy America as we know it, progressives borrowed a brilliant scheme from Greek mythology. They offered America a modern day Trojan Horse, a beautifully crafted golden shiny new black man as a presidential candidate. Democrat Joe Biden lauded Obama as the first clean and articulate African American candidate. Democrat Harry Reid said Obama only uses a black dialect when he wants.

White America relished the opportunity to vote for a black man naively believing they would never suffer the pain of being called racist again. Black Americans viewed casting their vote for Obama as the ultimate Affirmative Action forAmerica 's sins of the past.

Then there were the entitlement loser voters who said, "I'm votin' for the black dude who promises to take from those rich SOBs and give to me."

Just as the deceived Trojans dragged the beautifully crafted Trojan Horse into Troy as a symbol of their victory, deceived Americans embraced the progressive's young, handsome, articulate and so called moderate black presidential candidate as a symbol of their liberation from accusation of being a racist nation. Also like the Trojan Horse, Obama was filled with the enemy hiding inside.

Sunday, March 21, 2010, a secret door opened in Obama, the shiny golden black man. A raging army of democrats charged out. Without mercy, they began their vicious bloody slaughter of every value, freedom and institution we Americans hold dear; launching the end of America as we know it.

Wielding swords of votes reeking with the putrid odor of back door deals, the democrats landed a severe death blow to America and individual rights by passing Obamacare.

The mainstream liberal media has been relentlessly badgering the Tea Party movement with accusations of racism. Because I am a black tea party patriot, I am bombarded with interviewers asking me the same veiled question. "Why are you siding with these white racists against America 's first African American president?" I defend my fellow patriots who are white stating, "These patriots do not give a hoot about Obama's skin color. They simply love their country and oppose his radical agenda. Obama's race is not an issue."

Recently, I have come to believe that perhaps I am wrong about Obama's race not being an issue. In reality, Obama's presidency has everything to do with racism, but not from the Tea Party movement. Progressives and Obama have exploited his race from the rookie senator's virtually unchallenged presidential campaign to his unprecedented bullying of America into Obamacare. Obama's race trumped all normal media scrutiny of him as a presidential candidate and most recently even the Constitution of the United States .. Obamacare forces all Americans to purchase health care which is clearly unconstitutional.

No white president could get away with boldly and arrogantly thwarting the will of the American people and ignoring laws. President Clinton tried universal health care. Bush tried social security reform. The American people said "no" to both president's proposals and it was the end of it. So how can Obama get away with giving the American people the finger? The answer. He is black.

The mainstream liberal media continues to portray all who oppose Obama in any way as racist. Despite a list of failed policies, overreaches into the private sector, violations of the Constitution and planned destructive legislation too numerous to mention in this article, many Americans are still fearful of criticizing our first black president. Incredible.

My fellow Americans, you must not continue to allow yourselves to be "played" and intimidated by Obama's race or the historical context of his presidency. If we are to save America , the greatest nation on the planet, Obama's progressive agenda must be stopped.

Learning Something New

After reading these 3 authors and how/what the public education system actually does, I am surprised to realize I never quite connected the dots quite this well before. I always knew things like college did nothing more than teach one how to work for someone else. But these 3 distinguished authors really take that understanding to a new level.

A Simple Question On Classified Information

This is really a very simply question.

We have all heard by now about Wikileaks over the last few months, posting thousands and thousands of secret classified United States documents online.

The classified documents have covered everything from secret and classified U.S. Military operations, to U. S. State Department secret and classified documents.

Obviously the United States Government is unable to keep seriously important secret and classified documents from being hacked, misappropriated, stolen, however they were actually gotten is besides the point, they were gotten and posted online by Wikileaks.

Now, let's change direction for a second.

Under the new ObamaCare laws getting ready to go into effect, supposedly everyone in the country will have all their medical records converted to digital records and all available to whatever US Government entity and/or Insurance Company that will require said medical information. As President Obama declared, this will somehow save tons of money etc.

So here's is my very simple question;

If the US Federal Government cannot even maintain secrecy and control of secret and classified documents from the U.S. Military and the U.S. State Department and prevent them from being posted online by some dirtbag, how the hell is that very same U.S. Fed-Gov going to keep yours and mine medical information, private information, personal information, from being hacked, stolen, misappropriated, and posted online by some dirtbag criminal?

Just imagine the ramifications if some hacker like the Wikileaks founder Julian Assange decided to access all your personal information, name, age, address, birth date, social security number, perhaps even credit information. Talk about stolen identity, sheesh.

And of course, having 300 million Americans personal, private and medical information in one convenient database. Waiting to be hacked.

Hell, if the Fed-Gov cannot even keep it's OWN secrets and classified information safe, what makes anyone think it can keep YOUR information classified and safe.

Quick trivia question; is this the very same US Fed-Gov who dumped Dioxin (Agent Orange) all over SE Asia, and told us we had nothing to worry about from it?

And as far as this 'statement' being sent to the Obama 'Science Czar' John Holdren, I'm not real sure Holdren is any sort of a confidence booster when it comes to trusting the Fed-Gov.

* Seeing as how in a 1977 book Holdren co-authored called Ecoscience, Holdren advocated that:

* Women could be forced to abort their pregnancies, whether they wanted to or not;

* The population at large could be sterilized by infertility drugs intentionally put into the nation's drinking water or in food;

* Single mothers and teen mothers should have their babies seized from them against their will and given away to other couples to raise;

* People who "contribute to social deterioration" (i.e. undesirables) "can be required by law to exercise reproductive responsibility" -- in other words, be compelled to have abortions or be sterilized.

* A transnational "Planetary Regime" should assume control of the global economy and also dictate the most intimate details of Americans' lives -- using an armed international police force.

So someone again please explain to me, how and why I should 'trust' the US Federal Government, or anyone in it?

But hey, look at the bright side, you can always choose to be groped, felt up and/or molested, not to mention explaining to your child or grand child, why some total stranger is allowed to play with their private parts, instead of risking what the Fed-Gov claims is 'safe'.

Me? I figure I'll stick to riding the Harley if I have to travel anywhere.

MORE Companies Waived From ObamaCare

So now there are MORE company waivers from requiring to implement the new ObamaCare law.

Last time I looked, there were like 30 or so companies that had been granted waivers.

Now we have 111 companies who have been granted waivers from implementing the new ObamaCare for their employees.

Including larger companies like:
Cigna with 265,000 employees
SEIU with 31,000 employees
Cracker Barrel with nearly 17,000 employees
UFT Welfare Fund with 351,000 employees
Aetna with over 200,00 employees

And even one company, Asbestos Workers Local 53 Welfare Fund, with only 2 employees.

So the simple question is, IF the ObamaCare law is supposed to be so damned good for business, supposed to put more people to work, not supposed to be a job killer, WHY the hell does there have to be ANY fracking waivers to the new health care LAW.

The obvious answer is that it is NOT that good for business, NOT a jobs creator, and is in fact in many ways a jobs killer.

Just as it was not supposed to raise individual health insurance premiums. Yeah, right. Tell that to the wife's insurance company who has already raised their premiums, specifically due to this new law.

Common sense dictates you cannot provide more benefits, to more people, plus insure even more people, without more money.

SOMEONE has to pick up the tab for those who can't or won't pick up the tab for themselves.

There is a medical distinction between Guts and Balls. We've all heard of people having Guts or having Balls. But do you really know the difference between them?

In an effort to keep you informed, here are the definitions:

GUTS - Is arriving home late after a night out with the guys, being met by your wife with a broom, and having the Guts to ask: 'Are you still cleaning, or are you flying somewhere?'

BALLS - Is coming home late after a night out with the guys, smelling of perfume and beer, lipstick on your collar, slapping your wife on the butt and having the Balls to say: 'You're next, Chubby.'

I hope this clears up any confusion on the definitions.

Medically speaking however, there is no difference in the outcome.

Both are fatal.

Really Good Question

Friend of mine asked this evening the following question on FB:

If, all of a sudden, the Internet and your cell phones went down -- just quit working -- how would you communicate with one another and friends around the world? (posted by Bill)

The following is my answer:

Who said I really wanted to talk to any of them in the first place?

OK, just kidding. Seriously, IF I had to, and if the cell phones were down, the internet were down, even the landlines were down, I'd wait.

However, if you are asking, if a cataclysmic incident were to happen, and no cell phones or ANY other electronic communication were to be had, for say, a month or more, that would indicate a lot more than simply someone took out a cell tower or 3.

In which case, chances are, there will be no mail delivery, no electric for gas stations, etc.

Now we have a party.
Now we rely on the ability to improvise, overcome and adapt.

Meaning I haul out the siphon pumps, shotguns, pistols, grab the Harley & pickup, and work my way to my kids and grandkids in Ga and NC.

(Or, did you not mean to actually take the question to that extent? Hahahaha, too late.)

Anyway, the point is, never ever rely on only one of ANYTHING, period. Never, ever. Never, never, ever.

Never rely on only the internet, or cell phones, or land lines.

Never rely solely on only one weapon or way to defend yourself and your family.

Never rely on only one place to get in or out of your neighborhood or even your home, or the restaurant you take your family to.

Never rely on only one way to have an income.

Whenever you allow yourself to become reliant on habitually using only one form of anything, you are setting yourself up to fail or for it to be taken from you, by anything from force to government edict.

Is that being paranoid? Maybe. But just because one is paranoid, doesn't mean that someone somewhere is not out to take anything they can from you.

And IF the SHTF (That's chit hits the fan to you civilians) if the SHTF, if you have only allowed yourself to rely one one of anything, and it's gone, then you most likely are up the proverbial creek, without the paddle.

H.R. 4646 Another TAX Coming?

HR4646, if passed into law, will invoke a 1% transaction fee upon every transaction made with any financial institution. Fee hell, call it for what it is, another damned TAX.

1% (to start with anyway) on EVERY single financial transaction you make, with your own money.

The purpose of this bill is: "To establish a fee on transactions which would eliminate the national debt and replace the income tax on individuals."

All of this sounds great, except that it actually seems to amount to an additional tax on every transaction in America, and the time line for eliminating the personal Income Tax is questionable at best.

To give you an example, suppose you deposit $100 in the bank. The bank would deduct $1 fee. 1%.

Then, suppose you write three checks against that $100: $40, $50, and $10. The bank would charge you 1%; $0.40, $0.50, and $0.10 from each of those checks; another $1 to the fed-gov.

Then, the person(s) to whom you paid the checks would have exactly the same amount deducted as they deposited their checks.

That amounts to $3 in fees for your initial deposit of $100.

The fee structure goes on and on, and you can see that this would be a nightmare from an accounting standpoint. It sounds so simple, but it gets complicated very quickly.

Remember, this is a 1% tax on all transactions at any financial institution ie: Banks, Credit Unions, etc..

Any deposit you make, or even move around within your account, ie: . Transfer to, will have a 1% tax charged. If your pay check or your social Security or whatever is direct deposited, 1% tax charged.

If you hand carry a check in to deposit, 1% tax charged, If you take cash in to deposit, 1% tax charged.

And keep in mind once the tax is there the fed-gov can raise it at will.

Oh, and does ANYONE really think they would do away with your federal income tax? If so, I gots some swamp land down here in sunny Florida I'd like to sell ya.

Personally, ya might just want to write or call your congressman to make sure this never even gets out of committee, much less passed into actual law.

Gays In The Military Another Perspective

Lately there has been a lot of talk and even open hostility concerning the Don't Ask Don't Tell homosexual policy set by the United States Congress nearly 30 years ago.

So much garbage floating around I finally had to put some of this into perspective here, if for no other reason than my own sanity.

Both the pro and con sides of this issue have been arguing with the brick wall of the other side. 2 brick walls arguing a point that will never ever be settled, unless perhaps by force.

Those who support gays serving openly in the US Military liken it to the integration of blacks and women into the Military.

Those who are anti-gays serving in the US Military, insist homosexuality is a preference, a choice, and is completely unlike being born a woman or being born black.

There is no way in hell one side is ever going to convince the other side to change their mind.

We ALL have our own personal beliefs here. Some more deeply held perhaps than others, but we all have them. For the most part, it seems that the belief is all one or the other, no real middle ground.

So let's get beyond all the emotional beliefs for a moment and look at the real issues going on here. The ones besides personal beliefs from either side.

Because in the end, no pun intended, the result of abolishing the DADT law and allowing gays to open serve in the US Military will have a FAR greater impact than anyone is talking about.

Gays openly serving in the US Military is not about Military service just as gay marriage is not really about marriage. That's right, it really has nothing to do with either.

It is really about whether or not American society in general, as an entire society, is ready to accept being gay as 'normal', and by doing so make gays a protected minority class, like being black or female.

For homosexuality to be accepted by the general American Public, the US Military (and even Marriage) as we know it, must be done away with, changed, even destroyed. They must accept homosexuality as being completely normal, like being black or female and therefore a protected minority.

There are a LOT of things to consider before deciding whether or not gays should be allowed to served openly in the US Military. Including the good order and discipline, unit cohesion, co-habitation issues, etc. But let's skip that for now and focus on something no one seems to be talking about.

Section 8 of article I of the Constitution of the United States says that ONLY the US Congress has the powers to raise and support armies, provide and maintain a Navy, AND only the US Congress can make rules for the government and regulation of the land and naval forces.

What does that mean in this case? Well, to be blunt, there is NO fracking Constitutional 'RIGHT' to serve in the United States Military. Period. None, nada, zilch.

At this point, we have a choice, of sorts.

A Federal judge has recently ruled that gays have a 'Constitutional Right' to openly serve in the US Military.

Funny I don't see that anyone has a Constitutional Right to serve in the Military in the copy of the US Constitution I have read. Maybe he has a different copy than I do. Hell if I know.

However, if a sitting US Federal Judge, can repeal the Don't Ask Don't Tell legislation passed by the US Congress, then repealing that law must also decree that it is also not within "the discretion of the Congress to establish qualifications for and conditions of service in the armed forces."

Meaning then, per this Federal Judge anyway, the US Congress does not have the Constitutional Right and/or Responsibility " to raise and support armies, provide and maintain a Navy, AND make rules for the government and regulation of the land and naval forces" as provided for in Section 8 of article I of the Constitution of the United States.

That means by judicial decree it would establish a constitutional right for anyone to serve in the US Military. Including child molesters, convicted rapists, drug dealers, convicted murders, even terrorists or any other dirtbag who wanted to 'serve' their Country. Yeah, I can just see that going over real with with the good order and discipline, unit cohesion, co-habitation issues. Right.

I would seriously suggest to anyone who has not done so, to actually take the time to read what the law says about homosexuals in the US Military. It is fairly short and self-explanatory.

(8) Military life is fundamentally different from civilian life in that-

(A) the extraordinary responsibilities of the armed forces, the unique conditions of military service, and the critical role of unit cohesion, require that the military community, while subject to civilian control, exist as a specialized society; and

(B) the military society is characterized by its own laws, rules, customs, and traditions, including numerous restrictions on personal behavior, that would not be acceptable in civilian society.

(9) The standards of conduct for members of the armed forces regulate a member's life for 24 hours each day beginning at the moment the member enters military status and not ending until that person is discharged or otherwise separated from the armed forces.

(10) Those standards of conduct, including the Uniform Code of Military Justice, apply to a member of the armed forces at all times that the member has a military status, whether the member is on base or off base, and whether the member is on duty or off duty.

(11) The pervasive application of the standards of conduct is necessary because members of the armed forces must be ready at all times for worldwide deployment to a combat environment.

(12) The worldwide deployment of United States military forces, the international responsibilities of the United States, and the potential for involvement of the armed forces in actual combat routinely make it necessary for members of the armed forces involuntarily to accept living conditions and working conditions that are often spartan, primitive, and characterized by forced intimacy with little or no privacy.

(13) The prohibition against homosexual conduct is a long-standing element of military law that continues to be necessary in the unique circumstances of military service.

(14) The armed forces must maintain personnel policies that exclude persons whose presence in the armed forces would create an unacceptable risk to the armed forces' high standards of morale, good order and discipline, and unit cohesion that are the essence of military capability.

(15) The presence in the armed forces of persons who demonstrate a propensity or intent to engage in homosexual acts would create an unacceptable risk to the high standards of morale, good order and discipline, and unit cohesion that are the essence of military capability.

Yes, there is more. Take the time and read it. Then make your decision. As a Marine Corps Veteran, for me, it's really simple; you want to serve, fine, keep your mouth shut, and don't ask and don't tell.

President's Wife Above The Law? Yes Per White House

I have always heard my entire life, that "ignorance of the law is no excuse". Apparently Mr. Robert Gibbs and the White House doesn't see it that way when it comes to the wife of the president of the United States.

Illinois state law -- Sec. 17-29 (a) -- states: "No judge of election, pollwatcher, or other person shall, at any primary or election, do any electioneering or soliciting of votes or engage in any political discussion within any polling place, within 100 feet of any polling place."

However, Mrs. Obama, herself an attorney, from Illinois, was apparently caught doing that very same "illegal campaigning" inside a polling place when she stopped at the Martin Luther King Center in Chicago to cast an early vote.

According to the Drudge Report, a top Illinois State Board of Elections official stated how Mrs. Obama may have simply been ignorant of the law and thus violated it unintentionally.

Quote: "You kind of have to drop the standard for the first lady, right?" the official explained late Thursday. "I mean, she's pretty well liked and probably doesn't know what she's doing."

So what the hell is that supposed to mean? She's well liked so she can violate the law?

She's supposedly "ignorant" of a law in her own home state, where she is licensed to practice law. Someone honestly wants to claim Mrs Obama didn't know what she was doing was illegal? Yeah, right.

And apparently, the White House also feels it's no big deal since White House press secretary Robert Gibbs defended the action.

"I don't think it would be much to imagine, the First Lady might support her husband's agenda," Gibbs smiled.

Legal or not right Mr. Gibbs? Yeah, that's what I thought.

More the typical politician bullcrap hypocrisy of "don't do as I do just do as I say".

The Democratic Party has become the Lawyers' Party. Barack Obama is a lawyer. Michelle Obama is a lawyer. Hillary Clinton is a lawyer. Bill Clinton is a lawyer. John Edwards is a lawyer. Elizabeth Edwards is a lawyer. Every Democrat nominee since 1984 went to law school (although Gore did not graduate).

Every Democrat vice presidential nominee since 1976, except for Lloyd Bentsen, went to law school. Look at leaders of the Democrat Party in Congress: Harry Reid is a lawyer. Nancy Pelosi is a lawyer.

The Republican Party is different.

President Bush is a businessman. Vice President Cheney is a businessman. The leaders of the Republican Revolution:

Newt Gingrich was a history professor. Tom Delay was an exterminator. Dick Armey was an economist. House Minority Leader Boehner was a plastic manufacturer. The former Senate Majority Leader Bill First is a heart surgeon.

Who was the last Republican president who was a lawyer? Gerald Ford, who left office 31 years ago and who barely won the Republican nomination as a sitting president, running against Ronald Reagan in 1976.

The Republican Party is made up of real people doing real work, who are often the targets of lawyers.

The Democrat Party is made up of lawyers. Democrats mock and scorn men who create wealth, like Bush and Cheney, or who heal the sick, like First, or who immerse themselves in history, like Gingrich.

The Lawyers' Party sees these sorts of people, who provide goods and services that people want, as the enemies of America . And, so we have seen the procession of official enemies, in the eyes of the Lawyers' Party, grow..

The United States has 5% of the world's population and 66% of the world's lawyers! Tort (Legal) reform legislation has been introduced in congress several times in the last several years to limit punitive damages in ridiculous lawsuits such as "spilling hot coffee on yourself and suing the establishment that sold it to you" and also to limit punitive damages in huge medical malpractice lawsuits. This legislation has continually been blocked from even being voted on by the Democrat Party.

When you see that 97% of the political contributions from the American Trial Lawyers Association goes to the Democrat Party, then you realize who is responsible for our medical and product costs being so high!

The following is the response to the above, written by an attorney. An attorney who has been a close personal friend now for nearly 20 years and one whom I trust with my life (and have).

When I first read this 'Lawyers Party' article above, I felt it was pretty much on the money.

However, after reading Ed's response, below, I have come to have a new appreciation for his (Ed's) insight and knowledge about what is truly wrong with this;

Too many fracking lawyers being allowed to take advantage of too many loopholes in the law because of too many lazy people wanting to put the blame for their own lack of personal responsibility and stupidity on to someone else.

In other words, those who actually work and produce something are once again subsidizing and supporting those who do not produce much, if anything.

This was sent to me and I found it to be very interesting. I have not made any attempt to verify the basic assertions in the message. Rather, for purposes of this response, I will accept them to be true. So, if you haven't done so yet, I suggest that you pause now and read the original email, then come back to read my comments........

Ok, so the basic premise of the email is that lawyers are what's wrong with this country...that all lawyers are Democrats...and Democrats are bad. Well, what's bad is the syllogism.

Personally, I'm inclined to believe that:

1. "Do gooders" are attracted to politics.

2. A "do gooder" is more likely to lean toward the Democratic party than the Republican party

3. It is "common knowledge" that a law degree is, potentially, an entree into politics

4. Therefore, "do gooders" are more likely to seek a law degree than the average person.

I believe that the above is a better explanation of the apparent predominance of attorneys in the Democratic Party than the inference offered by the author of the [above] email.

I agree with the author that the US has waaaaay too many lawyers!

However, I disagree with him (and the Republican party) on the issue of tort reform.

I do not now, nor have I ever, practiced personal injury law, so I have nothing to gain or lose by tort reform.

But, every tort reform proposal that I have ever seen boils down to limiting the recovery of the injured party. No one has ever explained to my satisfaction why it is the injured parties that should bear the cost of tort reform.

If I or some member of my family is seriously injured by a negligent driver or a defective product, I certainly wouldn't want my recovery to be limited because someone's insurance costs were too high.

Instead of "tort reform" we need "jury reform" or "societal reform".

If society in general and juries specifically stopped granting absurd awards "for spilling hot coffee on yourself", then lawyers would stop filing the cases, insurance costs would come down, and "tort reform" would be unnecessary.

Instead, no one wants to accept responsibility for their own actions. Therefore, stupid cases get filed. Juries render absurd decisions, thinking "McDonald's (or their insurance company) can afford it". Then everyone cries "We need a new law (tort reform) to control runaway juries and stupid lawyers.

Everyone wants a free lunch (stupid jury award) and everyone wants someone else (tort reform) to pay for it.

This is not very long, but is very informative. Read the catalog of events in this brief piece. Then, ask yourself how anyone can take the position that all we have to do is bring our troops home from Iraq and Afghanistan, reset the snooze alarm, go back to sleep, and supposedly no Muslim Dirtbag Terrorist will ever bother us again.

In case you missed it, World War III began in November 1979...

US Navy Captain Dan Ouimette is the Commander of Training Air Wing 1 at the Naval Air Station, Pensacola , Florida . This is a copy of a speech he gave in March 2003. Makes complete sense to me.

It seems it is a pretty accurate account of why we are in so much trouble today.

AMERICA NEEDS TO WAKE UP!

That's what we think we heard on the 11th of September 2001 (when more than 3,000 Americans were killed) and maybe it was, but I think it should have been 'Get Out of Bed!' In fact, the alarm clock has been buzzing since 1979 and we've continued to hit the snooze button and roll over for a few more minutes of peaceful sleep since then.

It was a cool fall day in November 1979 in a country going through a religious and political upheaval when a group of Iranian students attacked and seized the American Embassy in Tehran. This seizure was an outright attack on American soil; it was an attack that held the world's most powerful country hostage and paralyzed a Presidency. The attack on this sovereign U. S. Embassy set the stage for events to follow for the next 25 years.

America was still reeling from the aftermath of the Vietnam experience and had a serious threat from the Soviet Union when then, Jimmy Carter, had to do something. He chose to conduct a clandestine raid in the desert. The ill-fated mission ended in ruin, but stood as a symbol of America 's inability to deal with terrorism.

America 's military had been decimated and down sized since the end of the Vietnam War. A poorly trained, poorly equipped and poorly organized military was called on to execute a complex mission that was doomed from the start.

Shortly after the Tehran experience, Americans began to be kidnapped and killed throughout the Middle East. America could do little to protect her citizens living and working abroad. The attacks against US soil continued.

In April of 1983 a large vehicle packed with high explosives was driven into the US Embassy compound in Beirut . When it explodes, it kills 63 people. The alarm went off again and America hit the Snooze Button once more.

Then just six short months later in 1983 a truck heavily laden down with over 2500 pounds of TNT smashed through the main gate of the US Marine Corps headquarters in Beirut and 241 US servicemen are killed. America mourns her dead and hits the snooze button once more.

Two months later in December 1983, another truck loaded with explosives is driven into the US Embassy in Kuwait, and America continues her slumber.

The following year, in September 1984, another van was driven into the gate of the US Embassy in Beirut and America slept.

Soon the terrorism spreads to Europe . In April 1985 a bomb explodes in a restaurant frequented by US soldiers in Madrid

Then in August 1985 a Volkswagen loaded with explosives is driven into the main gate of the US Air Force Base at Rheine-Main, 22 are killed and the snooze alarm is buzzing louder and louder as US interests are continually attacked.

Fifty-nine days later in 1985 a cruise ship, the Achille Lauro is hijacked and we watched as an American in a wheelchair is singled out of the passenger list and executed.

The terrorists then shift their tactics to bombing civilian airliners when they bomb TWA Flight 840 in April of 1986 that killed 4. And the most tragic bombing, Pan Am Flight 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland in 1988, killing 259.

The wake up alarm is getting louder and louder.

The terrorists decide to bring the fight to America . In January 1993, two CIA agents are shot and killed as they enter CIA headquarters in Langley, Virginia.
The following month, February 1993, a group of terrorists are arrested after a rented van packed with explosives is driven into the underground parking garage of the World Trade Center in New York City. Six people are killed and over 1000 are injured. Still this is a crime and not an act of war? Hit the snooze alarm again.

Then in November 1995 a car bomb explodes at a US military complex in Riyadh Saudi Arabia killing seven service men and women.

A few months later in June of 1996, another truck bomb explodes only 35 yards from the US military compound in Dhahran , Saudi Arabia . It destroys the Khobar Towers , a US Air Force barracks, killing 19 and injuring over 500. The terrorists are getting braver and smarter as they see that America does not respond decisively.

They move to coordinate their attacks in a simultaneous attack on two US embassies in Kenya and Tanzania . These attacks were planned with precision. They kill 224. America responds with cruise missile attacks and goes back to sleep.

The USS Cole was docked in the port of Aden, Yemen for refueling on 12 October 2000 , when a small craft pulled along side the ship and exploded killing 17 US Navy Sailors. Attacking a US warship is an act of war, but we sent the FBI to investigate the crime and went back to sleep.

And of course you know the events of 11 September 2001. Most Americans think this was the first attack against US soil or in America. How wrong they are. America has been under a constant attack since 1979 and we chose to hit the snooze alarm and roll over and go back to sleep.

In the news lately we have seen lots of finger pointing from every high official in government over what they knew and what they didn't know. But if you've read the papers and paid a little attention I think you can see exactly what they knew. You don't have to be in the FBI or CIA or on the National Security Council to see the pattern that has been developing since 1979.

I think we have been in a war for the past 30 years and it will continue until we as a people decide enough is enough. America needs to 'Get out of Bed' and act decisively now. America has been changed forever. We have to be ready to pay the price and make the sacrifice to ensure our way of life continues. We cannot afford to keep hitting the snooze button again and again and roll over and go back to sleep.

After the attack on Pearl Harbor, Admiral Yamamoto famously said 'It seems all we have done is awaken a sleeping giant.'

This is the message we need to disseminate to terrorists around the world.

To be honest, I have to slightly disagree with the Captain. The United States of America has been fighting Muslim Terrorists since before we actually were officially the United States of America. Do a bit of history research on the Barbary Wars. Do a bit more research on when and why President Thomas Jefferson sent the United States Marines to Tripoli to try and stop Muslim Terrorists (known as pirates back then) from attacking American ships, enslaving and murdering American sailors and civilians.

The heads of government in London for the G-20 summit are discussing serious and weighty issues, which in time will be duly reported on, but right now the British press is entranced by the sheer size of President Obama's traveling entourage. And no wonder.

Obama arrived with 500 staff in tow, including 200 Secret Service agents, a team of six doctors, the White House chef and kitchen staff with the president's own food and water.
And, according to the Evening Standard, he also came with "35 vehicles in all, four speech writers and 12 teleprompters."

For sure, our president is not going to be at a loss for words.

The press duly reported on Air Force One and all its bells and whistles but also on the presence of the presidential helicopter, Marine One, and a fleet of identical decoys to ferry him from Stansted airport to central London.

Among all those vehicles is the presidential limousine, which one local paper mistakenly called Cadillac One, but is universally referred to as the Beast.

The president is entitled to all the security, communications and support he feels necessary to do his job but surely, when we're trying to project a more restrained, humble image to the world, the president's huge retinue could be scaled back to something less than the triumphal march from "Aida."

Obama took six (6) doctors with him for a 3 day visit to London - along with 494 other essential staff. Not to mention 12, count them, 12 teleprompters. Just how many 'essential' staff is required in 3 days. Does anyone actually believe they can meet and do business with 494 people in 3 days, ok, not counting the cooks and secret service. That still leaves what, around 300 so-called essential staff' along for the ride.

I wonder if this administration has ever heard of video conferencing, or the Internet.

I also gotta wonder just how big of a 'carbon footprint' all that had on the 'globul warming' that Mr. Obama said 'everyone' had to sacrifice for. Obviously he meant 'sacrifice' for everyone except him of course.

liberal pundits will meakly and quietly go along with it since
it is being proposed by the Obama administration.

President Obama wants to make Internet wiretaps and
snooping even easier for law enforcement and the
Fed-Gov to look in on and monitor your private
conversations.

Right after 9-11 when Bush and the Congress passed the
so-called Patriot Act, liberals were screaming their damn
fool heads off about 'privacy'. And how the Patriot Act was
in violation of the Constitution.

And truthfully, so was I. I could care less who the Fed-Gov
wants to wiretap and snoop on OUTSIDE of the United
States of America. I don't even have a problem with the
Fed-Gov wiretapping and snooping on NON-US citizens
INSIDE the United States.

But I have a major issue with the Fed-Gov going around
without so much as a by-your-leave wiretapping and
snooping on Free American Citizens, without a specific
warrant authorizing such invasion of privacy based upon
reasonable and justifiable evidence of a crime or future
crime, as determined by a qualified Judge of Competent
Jurisdiction.

According to the NY Times, that bastion of liberal media
that enjoys holding Obama's water so much, this new
legislation would make it easier for law enforcement and
national security officials to eavesdrop on Internet and
e-mail communications like social networking Web sites
and even your favorite BlackBerry.

The Times claims that some privacy and technology
advocates say the new Obama regulations would create
weaknesses in the technology that hackers could more
easily exploit.

Not to mention the 'hackers' would also include the US Fed-Gov itself. The Fed-Gov being the largest employer of hackers in the free world of course.

People didn't trust the Bush administration with the Patriot
Act. So now they expect me to trust the Obama
administration when they want to make it even easier to
get into my personal and private conversations?

Not happening.

Now I kinda wonder about the long pause thing. Was President Obama actually 'thinking' about whether or not to include God the Creator in our Declaration? Did he, the Constitutional Law Professor and President of the United States of America simply forget one of the most famous lines in American History? Or did he intentionally decide not to include the Creator?

OK, maybe, just maybe, he did not have one of the couple thousand teleprompters handy that he has around him 24/7. (Ya ever wonder how he actually has a conversation with his wife? I mean hey, gotta wonder if he uses a teleprompter when speaking to her.)

OK, my liberal friends have kinda ragged Me about hey, give the guy a break. It was probably just a slip of the tongue.

Should I actually give the President of the United States of America a break on this one? It would seem Mr. Obama being POTUS and a Constitutional Law Professor he would undoubtedly know that the Preamble of our Declaration of Independence credits God our Creator for endowing us with our inalienable rights.

My liberal friends are all insisting it's probably just a slip of the tongue. I wonder if that is anything another one of his 'tongue slips' when then Sen. Barack Obama slipped up on ABC's This Week with George Stephanopoulos and 'accidentally' made reference to quote: "my Muslim faith."

As another one of my liberal friends told Me a while back, "don't nit-pick".

But seems to me that nits, if left unattended, mature into lice. And what none of us wants, is a lousy president.

Perhaps I should be kind enough to send President Barack Obama a copy of the United States Declaration of Independence since it seems kinda obvious he either has not actually read it, or at the very least, forgotten what it says and means.

Ya know, maybe it's just Me, but I sure do wish the President Of the United States of America would show a bit more respect for certain things. Like the Constitution.

Dear Ms. Pelosi:

I write to you out of utter disdain! You are as despicable and un-American as the traitor Jane Fonda.

I am a soon to be 65 year-old who has voted in every state and local election since 1966. I have voted for both Republicans and Democrats alike. I have worked on campaigns for both Republicans and Democrats, white and black. I served the country that I love in Vietnam , as my son did in the Middle East . I was awarded two bronze stars. I have been involved in politics since age 6 when my father was campaign manager for a truly great American Congressman, Charles Raper Jonas, who worked for his constituents and his country, and was to be admired, unlike you.

You obviously haven't read the Constitution recently, if ever, the Federalist Papers, or even David McCullough's book on John Adams. You ought to take the time while riding around in your government provided luxury executive jet to do just that. You represent Socialistic and even Marxist principals that our founding fathers tried to avoid when setting out the capitalistic republican form of government represented by our Constitution.

I find it interesting that you and your husband are multi-millionaires with much of your fortune being made as a result of your "public service". You have controlled legislation that has enhanced your husband's investments both on and off shore. At the same time you redistributed the wealth of others. Our system of a free market economy is being destroyed by the likes of you, Harry Reid, and now our President. You ride around in a Gulfstream airplane at the tax payer's expense while criticizing the presidents of companies who produced something for the economy. You add nothing to the economy of the United States ; you only subtract therefrom.

I would like to suggest that you return to the city of fruitcakes and nuts and eat your husband's canned tuna and pineapple produced by illegal immigrants and by workers who have been excluded from the protection that 90% of the legal workers in the United States have.

I await your defeat in the next election with glee.

Don't ever use the term "un-American" again for protesters who love this country and are exercising their rights upon which this country was founded. By the way, while I served in the Army, I was spit on by the same type of lunatics who support you and who you probably supported in the 60's and 70's. You are an embarrassment to all of us who served so that you would have the protected right of free speech to call us un-American. But at the same time, I have the right to write you to notify you that I consider you to be un-American, as do the majority of the people of this formerly great country. You are a true disgrace to most of the people who served this country by offering themselves for public service in the United States Congress.

I feel certain your aides will not share this letter with you, but I intend to share it with many.

Dear President Obama,

My name is Harold Estes, approaching 95 on December 13 of this year. People meeting me for the first time don't believe my age because I remain wrinkle free and pretty much mentally alert.

I enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1934 and served proudly before, during and after WW II retiring as a Master Chief Bos'n Mate. Now I live in a "rest home" located on the western end of Pearl Harbor, allowing me to keep alive the memories of 23 years of service to my country.

One of the benefits of my age, perhaps the only one, is to speak my mind, blunt and direct even to the head man.

So here goes.

I am amazed, angry and determined not to see my country die before I do, but you seem hell bent not to grant me that wish.

I can't figure out what country you are the president of.
You fly around the world telling our friends and enemies despicable lies like:
" We're no longer a Christian nation"
" America is arrogant" -
Your wife even announced to the world," America is mean- spirited. "
Please tell her to try preaching that nonsense to 23 generations of our war dead buried all over the globe who died for no other reason than to free a whole lot of strangers from tyranny and hopelessness.

I'd say shame on the both of you, but I don't think you like America, nor do I see an ounce of gratefulness in anything you do, for the obvious gifts this country has given you. To be without shame or gratefulness is a dangerous thing for a man sitting in the White House.

After 9/11 you said," America hasn't lived up to her ideals."

Which ones did you mean?

Was it the notion of personal liberty that 11,000 farmers and shopkeepers died for to win independence from the British?

Or maybe the ideal that no man should be a slave to another man, that 500,000 men died for in the Civil War?

I hope you didn't mean the ideal 470,000 fathers, brothers, husbands, and a lot of fellas I knew personally died for in WWII, because we felt real strongly about not letting any nation push us around, because we stand for freedom.

I don't think you mean the ideal that says equality is better than discrimination. You know the one that a whole lot of white people understood when they helped to get you elected.

Take a little advice from a very old geezer, young man.

Shape up and start acting like an American. If you don't, I'll do what I can to see you get shipped out of that fancy rental on Pennsylvania Avenue. You were elected to lead not to bow, apologize and kiss the hands of murderers and corrupt leaders who still treat their people like slaves.

And just who do you think you are telling the American people not to jump to conclusions and condemn that Muslim major who killed 13 of his fellow soldiers and wounded dozens more.

You mean you don't want us to do what you did when that white cop used force to subdue that black college professor in Massachusetts , who was putting up a fight? You don't mind offending the police calling them stupid but you don't want us to offend Muslim fanatics by calling them what they are, terrorists.

One more thing. I realize you never served in the military and never had to defend your country with your life, but you're the Commander-in-Chief now, son. Do your job. When your battle-hardened field General asks you for 40,000 more troops to complete the mission, give them to him. But if you're not in this fight to win, then get out. The life of one American soldier is not worth the best political strategy you're thinking of.

You could be our greatest president because you face the greatest challenge ever presented to any president.

You're not going to restore American greatness by bringing back our bloated economy. That's not our greatest threat. Losing the heart and soul of who we are as Americans is our big fight now.

And I sure as hell don't want to think my president is the enemy in this final battle...

Ineligable Voters Mostly Democrat (Go figure)

One of the more interesting points this article made was that 51% of ineligible felon voters were in fact registered Democrats.

Kristina Kulpa, the county's property appraiser, lost by just five votes and filed a lawsuit to overturn the result because 15 felons cast ballots. A judge ruled against Kulpa, but she still thinks she should have won.

Felon votes "certainly made a difference," she said in an interview last week. "It can happen to anyone.''

Seem in the case of Ms. Kulpa, the results should have been tossed and another election been held. In my own not so humble opinion of course.

What this also shows me, is that those who feel their vote doesn't count, need to reconsider their thinking. Since I'm told more people vote for American Idol than for an American President.

So to get honest, if one does not get their fat lazy azz off the couch and vote, they have no legitimate right to bytch about how this country is run.

People in Iraq and Afghanistan literally risk their very lives in order to exercise their right to vote. Some even risk being killed in just in order to run for public office in those countries.

Yet way too many people in this country remain indifferent, apathetic, and simply uncaring when it comes to exercising the very right others face death for.

Generally the most people in this country have to fear is a pulled hamstring from getting their lazy arses off the couch in the first place.

Well, with the exception of an occasional Black Panther standing around a polling place with billy club. But even the current administration would not go so far as to allow the Black Panthers to stand around with a RPG (Rocket Propelled Grenade).

Well, at least I do not believe the current administration would allow it. Might be wrong, guess it depends on how badly you believe Obama would want to win an election.

Anyway, back to the article, 51% of ineligible felon voters are registered Democrats.

Who woulda thunk it.

More strange behavior: Obama's June 15, 2010 speech in response to the Gulf oil spill focused not on cleanup strategies but rather on the fact that Americans "consume more than 20% of the world's oil but have less than 2% of the world's resources." Obama railed on about "America's century-long addiction to fossil fuels." What does any of this have to do with the oil spill? Would the calamity have been less of a problem if America consumed a mere 10% of the world's resources?

The oddities go on and on. Obama's Administration has declared that even banks that want to repay their bailout money may be refused permission to do so. Only after the Obama team cleared a bank through the Fed's "stress test" was it eligible to give taxpayers their money back. Even then, declared Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner, the Administration might force banks to keep the money.

The President continues to push for stimulus even though hundreds of billions of dollars in such funds seem to have done little. The unemployment rate when Obama took office in January 2009 was 7.7%; now it is 9.5%. Yet he wants to spend even more and is determined to foist the entire bill on Americans making $250,000 a year or more. The rich, Obama insists, aren't paying their "fair share." This by itself seems odd given that the top 1% of Americans pay 40% of all federal income taxes; the next 9% of income earners pay another 30%. So the top 10% pays 70% of the taxes; the bottom 40% pays close to nothing. This does indeed seem unfair--to the rich.

Obama's foreign policy is no less strange. He supports a $100 million mosque scheduled to be built near the site where terrorists in the name of Islam brought down the World Trade Center. Obama's rationale, that "our commitment to religious freedom must be unshakable," seems utterly irrelevant to the issue of why the proposed Cordoba House should be constructed at Ground Zero.

Recently the London Times reported that the Obama Administration supported the conditional release of Abdel Baset al-Megrahi, the Lockerbie bomber convicted in connection with the deaths of 270 people, mostly Americans. This was an eye-opener because when Scotland released Megrahi from prison and sent him home to Libya in August 2009, the Obama Administration publicly and appropriately complained. The Times, however, obtained a letter the Obama Administration sent to Scotland a week before the event in which it said that releasing Megrahi on "compassionate grounds" was acceptable as long as he was kept in Scotland and would be "far preferable" to sending him back to Libya. Scottish officials interpreted this to mean that U.S. objections to Megrahi's release were "half-hearted." They released him to his home country, where he lives today as a free man.

One more anomaly: A few months ago nasa Chief Charles Bolden announced that from now on the primary mission of America's space agency would be to improve relations with the Muslim world. Come again? Bolden said he got the word directly from the President. "He wanted me to find a way to reach out to the Muslim world and engage much more with dominantly Muslim nations to help them feel good about their historic contribution to science and math and engineering." Bolden added that the International Space Station was a model for nasa's future, since it was not just a U.S. operation but included the Russians and the Chinese. Obama's redirection of the agency caused consternation among former astronauts like Neil Armstrong and John Glenn, and even among the President's supporters: Most people think of nasa's job as one of landing on the moon and Mars and exploring other faraway destinations. Sure, we are for Islamic self-esteem, but what on earth was Obama up to here?

Theories abound to explain the President's goals and actions. Critics in the business community--including some Obama voters who now have buyer's remorse--tend to focus on two main themes. The first is that Obama is clueless about business. The second is that Obama is a socialist--not an out-and-out Marxist, but something of a European-style socialist, with a penchant for leveling and government redistribution.

These theories aren't wrong so much as they are inadequate. Even if they could account for Obama's domestic policy, they cannot explain his foreign policy. The real problem with Obama is worse--much worse. But we have been blinded to his real agenda because, across the political spectrum, we all seek to fit him into some version of American history. In the process, we ignore Obama's own history. Here is a man who spent his formative years--the first 17 years of his life--off the American mainland, in Hawaii, Indonesia and Pakistan, with multiple subsequent journeys to Africa.

A good way to discern what motivates Obama is to ask a simple question: What is his dream? Is it the American dream? Is it Martin Luther King's dream? Or something else?

It is certainly not the American dream as conceived by the founders. They believed the nation was a "new order for the ages." A half-century later Alexis de Tocqueville wrote of America as creating "a distinct species of mankind." This is known as American exceptionalism. But when asked at a 2009 press conference whether he believed in this ideal, Obama said no. America, he suggested, is no more unique or exceptional than Britain or Greece or any other country.

Perhaps, then, Obama shares Martin Luther King's dream of a color-blind society. The President has benefited from that dream; he campaigned as a nonracial candidate, and many Americans voted for him because he represents the color-blind ideal. Even so, King's dream is not Obama's: The President never champions the idea of color-blindness or race-neutrality. This inaction is not merely tactical; the race issue simply isn't what drives Obama.

What then is Obama's dream? We don't have to speculate because the President tells us himself in his autobiography, Dreams from My Father. According to Obama, his dream is his father's dream. Notice that his title is not Dreams of My Father but rather Dreams from My Father. Obama isn't writing about his father's dreams; he is writing about the dreams he received from his father.

So who was Barack Obama Sr.? He was a Luo tribesman who grew up in Kenya and studied at Harvard. He was a polygamist who had, over the course of his lifetime, four wives and eight children. One of his sons, Mark Obama, has accused him of abuse and wife-beating. He was also a regular drunk driver who got into numerous accidents, killing a man in one and causing his own legs to be amputated due to injury in another. In 1982 he got drunk at a bar in Nairobi and drove into a tree, killing himself.

An odd choice, certainly, as an inspirational hero. But to his son, the elder Obama represented a great and noble cause, the cause of anticolonialism. Obama Sr. grew up during Africa's struggle to be free of European rule, and he was one of the early generation of Africans chosen to study in America and then to shape his country's future.

I know a great deal about anticolonialism, because I am a native of Mumbai, India. I am part of the first Indian generation to be born after my country's independence from the British. Anticolonialism was the rallying cry of Third World politics for much of the second half of the 20th century. To most Americans, however, anticolonialism is an unfamiliar idea, so let me explain it.

Anticolonialism is the doctrine that rich countries of the West got rich by invading, occupying and looting poor countries of Asia, Africa and South America. As one of Obama's acknowledged intellectual influences, Frantz Fanon, wrote in The Wretched of the Earth, "The well-being and progress of Europe have been built up with the sweat and the dead bodies of Negroes, Arabs, Indians and the yellow races."

Anticolonialists hold that even when countries secure political independence they remain economically dependent on their former captors. This dependence is called neocolonialism, a term defined by the African statesman Kwame Nkrumah (1909--72) in his book Neocolonialism: The Last Stage of Imperialism. Nkrumah, Ghana's first president, writes that poor countries may be nominally free, but they continue to be manipulated from abroad by powerful corporate and plutocratic elites. These forces of neocolonialism oppress not only Third World people but also citizens in their own countries. Obviously the solution is to resist and overthrow the oppressors. This was the anticolonial ideology of Barack Obama Sr. and many in his generation, including many of my own relatives in India.

Obama Sr. was an economist, and in 1965 he published an important article in the East Africa Journal called "Problems Facing Our Socialism." Obama Sr. wasn't a doctrinaire socialist; rather, he saw state appropriation of wealth as a necessary means to achieve the anticolonial objective of taking resources away from the foreign looters and restoring them to the people of Africa. For Obama Sr. this was an issue of national autonomy. "Is it the African who owns this country? If he does, then why should he not control the economic means of growth in this country?"

As he put it, "We need to eliminate power structures that have been built through excessive accumulation so that not only a few individuals shall control a vast magnitude of resources as is the case now." The senior Obama proposed that the state confiscate private land and raise taxes with no upper limit. In fact, he insisted that "theoretically there is nothing that can stop the government from taxing 100% of income so long as the people get benefits from the government commensurate with their income which is taxed."

Remarkably, President Obama, who knows his father's history very well, has never mentioned his father's article. Even more remarkably, there has been virtually no reporting on a document that seems directly relevant to what the junior Obama is doing in the White House.

While the senior Obama called for Africa to free itself from the neocolonial influence of Europe and specifically Britain, he knew when he came to America in 1959 that the global balance of power was shifting. Even then, he recognized what has become a new tenet of anticolonialist ideology: Today's neocolonial leader is not Europe but America. As the late Palestinian scholar Edward Said--who was one of Obama's teachers at Columbia University--wrote in Culture and Imperialism, "The United States has replaced the earlier great empires and is the dominant outside force."

From the anticolonial perspective, American imperialism is on a rampage.

For a while, U.S. power was checked by the Soviet Union, but since the end of the Cold War, America has been the sole superpower. Moreover, 9/11 provided the occasion for America to invade and occupy two countries, Iraq and Afghanistan, and also to seek political and economic domination in the same way the French and the British empires once did. So in the anticolonial view, America is now the rogue elephant that subjugates and tramples the people of the world.

It may seem incredible to suggest that the anticolonial ideology of Barack Obama Sr. is espoused by his son, the President of the United States. That is what I am saying. From a very young age and through his formative years, Obama learned to see America as a force for global domination and destruction. He came to view America's military as an instrument of neocolonial occupation. He adopted his father's position that capitalism and free markets are code words for economic plunder. Obama grew to perceive the rich as an oppressive class, a kind of neocolonial power within America. In his worldview, profits are a measure of how effectively you have ripped off the rest of society, and America's power in the world is a measure of how selfishly it consumes the globe's resources and how ruthlessly it bullies and dominates the rest of the planet.

For Obama, the solutions are simple. He must work to wring the neocolonialism out of America and the West. And here is where our anticolonial understanding of Obama really takes off, because it provides a vital key to explaining not only his major policy actions but also the little details that no other theory can adequately account for.

Why support oil drilling off the coast of Brazil but not in America? Obama believes that the West uses a disproportionate share of the world's energy resources, so he wants neocolonial America to have less and the former colonized countries to have more. More broadly, his proposal for carbon taxes has little to do with whether the planet is getting warmer or colder; it is simply a way to penalize, and therefore reduce, America's carbon consumption. Both as a U.S. Senator and in his speech, as President, to the United Nations, Obama has proposed that the West massively subsidize energy production in the developing world.

Rejecting the socialist formula, Obama has shown no intention to nationalize the investment banks or the health sector. Rather, he seeks to decolonize these institutions, and this means bringing them under the government's leash. That's why Obama retains the right to refuse bailout paybacks--so that he can maintain his control. For Obama, health insurance companies on their own are oppressive racketeers, but once they submitted to federal oversight he was happy to do business with them. He even promised them expanded business as a result of his law forcing every American to buy health insurance.

If Obama shares his father's anticolonial crusade, that would explain why he wants people who are already paying close to 50% of their income in overall taxes to pay even more. The anticolonialist believes that since the rich have prospered at the expense of others, their wealth doesn't really belong to them; therefore whatever can be extracted from them is automatically just. Recall what Obama Sr. said in his 1965 paper: There is no tax rate too high, and even a 100% rate is justified under certain circumstances.

Obama supports the Ground Zero mosque because to him 9/11 is the event that unleashed the American bogey and pushed us into Iraq and Afghanistan. He views some of the Muslims who are fighting against America abroad as resisters of U.S. imperialism. Certainly that is the way the Lockerbie bomber Abdel Baset al-Megrahi portrayed himself at his trial. Obama's perception of him as an anticolonial resister would explain why he gave tacit approval for this murderer of hundreds of Americans to be released from captivity.

Finally, nasa. No explanation other than anticolonialism makes sense of Obama's curious mandate to convert a space agency into a Muslim and international outreach. We can see how well our theory works by recalling the moon landing of Apollo 11 in 1969. "One small step for man," Neil Armstrong said. "One giant leap for mankind."

But that's not how the rest of the world saw it. I was 8 years old at the time and living in my native India. I remember my grandfather telling me about the great race between America and Russia to put a man on the moon. Clearly America had won, and this was one giant leap not for mankind but for the U.S. If Obama shares this view, it's no wonder he wants to blunt nasa's space program, to divert it from a symbol of American greatness into a more modest public relations program.

Clearly the anticolonial ideology of Barack Obama Sr. goes a long way to explain the actions and policies of his son in the Oval Office. And we can be doubly sure about his father's influence because those who know Obama well testify to it. His "granny" Sarah Obama (not his real grandmother but one of his grandfather's other wives) told Newsweek, "I look at him and I see all the same things--he has taken everything from his father. The son is realizing everything the father wanted. The dreams of the father are still alive in the son."

In his own writings Obama stresses the centrality of his father not only to his beliefs and values but to his very identity. He calls his memoir "the record of a personal, interior journey--a boy's search for his father and through that search a workable meaning for his life as a black American." And again, "It was into my father's image, the black man, son of Africa, that I'd packed all the attributes I sought in myself." Even though his father was absent for virtually all his life, Obama writes, "My father's voice had nevertheless remained untainted, inspiring, rebuking, granting or withholding approval. You do not work hard enough, Barry. You must help in your people's struggle. Wake up, black man!"

The climax of Obama's narrative is when he goes to Kenya and weeps at his father's grave. It is riveting: "When my tears were finally spent," he writes, "I felt a calmness wash over me. I felt the circle finally close. I realized that who I was, what I cared about, was no longer just a matter of intellect or obligation, no longer a construct of words. I saw that my life in America--the black life, the white life, the sense of abandonment I'd felt as a boy, the frustration and hope I'd witnessed in Chicago--all of it was connected with this small piece of earth an ocean away, connected by more than the accident of a name or the color of my skin. The pain that I felt was my father's pain."

In an eerie conclusion, Obama writes that "I sat at my father's grave and spoke to him through Africa's red soil." In a sense, through the earth itself, he communes with his father and receives his father's spirit. Obama takes on his father's struggle, not by recovering his body but by embracing his cause. He decides that where Obama Sr. failed, he will succeed. Obama Sr.'s hatred of the colonial system becomes Obama Jr.'s hatred; his botched attempt to set the world right defines his son's objective. Through a kind of sacramental rite at the family tomb, the father's struggle becomes the son's birthright.

Colonialism today is a dead issue. No one cares about it except the man in the White House. He is the last anticolonial. Emerging market economies such as China, India, Chile and Indonesia have solved the problem of backwardness; they are exploiting their labor advantage and growing much faster than the U.S. If America is going to remain on top, we have to compete in an increasingly tough environment.

But instead of readying us for the challenge, our President is trapped in his father's time machine. Incredibly, the U.S. is being ruled according to the dreams of a Luo tribesman of the 1950s. This philandering, inebriated African socialist, who raged against the world for denying him the realization of his anticolonial ambitions, is now setting the nation's agenda through the reincarnation of his dreams in his son. The son makes it happen, but he candidly admits he is only living out his father's dream. The invisible father provides the inspiration, and the son dutifully gets the job done. America today is governed by a ghost.

"Islamophobia," they call it.

"Islamophobia," they call it. According to the dictionary a "phobia" is: "a persistent, irrational fear of a specific object, activity, or situation that leads to a compelling desire to avoid it." (dictionary.com).

"Islamophobia, then, is a persistent, irrational fear of Islam that leads you to a compelling desire to avoid it." Very convenient, don't you think? Those that accuse you of being Islamophobic want you to believe that they think you are frightened by Islam, and frightened by it so much that you irrationally desire to avoid it. And of course, because you think they think this, or because this positions you to think they are erroneously labelling you, you tend to want to convince them that you are not afraid of Islam: Which positions you as being afraid of Islam.

It's the same propaganda tool that is used when you are accused of being a racist. First there's the accusation that you are a racist. You are then put in the position of having to defend an absurd accusation. But it isn't just an accusation. Psychiatrists, psychologists, counselors have long known that if you saddle someone with an incorrect "diagnosis," that is, if you tell someone that what is wrong with him is that he hates his father, for example, the "client" or "counselee," if the diagnosis is incorrect, can then incorrectly assign that quality to himself and then work to try to correct something that does not exist. And if you were to ask that "client" why he was acting in an inappropriate manner, as his demeanor might reveal, he would say, "because I hate my father." The counselee tries to fix a non-existent condition, and then, because the condition does not exist, fails at fixing it, and so goes into a decline.

Propagandists use the psychological "black-ops" to do exactly that same thing to their target audiences. Thus we have the NAACP accusing the Tea Party of racism, and although most Tea Party people do not accept this, there is an inordinate amount of defending against the accusation. It is the same with the label: HOMOPHOBIA. You may not be the least bit afraid of homosexuals, but if you disapprove of homosexuality, you most certainly will be labelled homophobic. You are positioned to DEFEND. The term and the "condition" of being homophobic is advanced by the media or the PR or propaganda people, and so those that are against gay marriage or gay issues get an uneasiness about it, because they are at least to an extent resisting a non-existing condition.

Positioning is a tool of marketing, but it is also a tool of propaganda.

In the case of ISLAMOPHOBIA, you are being positioned to defend against a non-existent condition, an irrational fear of ISLAM.

You will notice that those that accuse you of being ISLAMOPHOBIC do not accuse you of having a phobia of RADICAL MUSLIM EXTREMISTS, even though they continually say that the radicals do not speak for ISLAM. It is curious that In accusing you of having irrational thoughts or feelings about ISLAM the accusers position themselves with RADICAL EXTREMISTS. Although the "ISLAMAPHOBIA" trick is somewhat working, instead it is getting more of a backlash from this, because there IS actual terrorism, and because the terrorists that are perpetrating that terror are Islamic.

There is a bit of sub-conscious or sub-liminal, or sub-awareness "conflict," which causes one to hesitate a bit, for the mind always attempts to reconcile illogics, and tends to fill in the gaps, where there logic is missing.

But seen in the light of understanding, one can counter psy-ops, or propaganda meant to confuse and to position so that one feels defensive.

The antidote, of course is the truth. With ISLAMOPHOBIA, as with HOMOPHOBIA, as with RACISM, the aim is to position you so that you defend. And with a "phobia," the aim is to position you to be afraid, whether you are afraid or not. The accusers want you to withdraw, to be careful of, or to be cautious of, or withhold a counter-attack against the accuser. And from the evidence at hand, to a greater or lesser degree, it appears to work. There is an additional bonus to accusing people of Islamophobia, because Islamophobia is packaged to imply that it is a kind of racism.

It is a very clever use of a very ancient tool.

Their methods can be turned on them (the accusers, the propagandists), however. For example, you can ask them, Why are YOU Ameriphobic? OR: Why are you Tea Party-phobic? Or what about, "Why are Liberals so Conserva-phobic?" "You obviously have a phobia of the Tea Party, don't you?" When you turn it around, you see how ridiculous the accusation, the labeling and the positioning is.

I have yet to see anyone on any of the talk shows use this as a defense, but it would be amusing to watch, don't you think? Can you think of any other ways to turn this around, like, for example: Christiano-phobia?

In fact, it would be even more amusing to position Socialists as anti-Freedom. Imagine a good chunk of the NAACP waking up one day, realizing they were defending against Freedom-phobia.

Please note that I am not advocating that you do this. I merely point this out in the hopes that it will free-up enough minds, so that they do not needlessly get entangled in a web of having to defend a non-existent condition, and get on with the business of creating an American Conservative Cultural Revolution. It's way overdue.

A pair of psychiatric experts think they've got the answer to the soaring number of troops coming back from war with PTSD: have them undergo intensive psychotherapy — while they're rolling on ecstasy.

Dr. Michael Mithoefer and Anne Mithoefer, a psychiatric nurse, are the South Carolina pair who've been spearheading research into ecstasy, known clinically as MDMA, since 2000. After one successful study on 21 PTSD patients between 2004 and 2008, they've now received the final okay from FDA and DEA officials to start a study entirely devoted to former military service members.

"My sense is that, especially after we published the results of the first study, these institutions are more open to the idea," Dr. Michael Mithoefer tells Danger Room. "Obviously, this is still new and experimental, and it can take time to get through to big institutions."

With $500,000 in funding from MAPS (the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies), the two are recruiting 16 veterans — they're hoping for a 50-50 split between men and women, and want most of the participants to have been diagnosed within the last 10 years.

"These will mostly be veterans from Iraq or Afghanistan, because longer duration of PTSD means more complicating factors," Dr. Mithoefer says, adding that he does anticipate enrolling 4 vets from earlier wars and is still accepting applications.

Participants will undergo a preliminary screening process, and then partake in three solitary, 8-hour therapy sessions with both doctors. While tripping out, they'll be asked to revisit the traumatic experiences that triggered their disorder. Dr. Mithoefer thinks MDMA acts as a catalyst for "an optimal zone of arousal" that prevents patients from becoming overwhelmed or, on the flipside, shutting down and detaching altogether.

Of course, the Pentagon's still struggling to better diagnose and address PTSD, most recently with a cutting edge 72,000 square foot research facility. But despite the military's gradual thaw on alternative methods to treat the disorder — already, they've funded everything from yoga and acupuncture to "Warrior Mind Training" — top brass have yet to endorse MDMA.

"We're had several conversations with people at Veterans Affairs hospitals and officers at the Department of Defense, but so far haven't convinced them to participate," Mithoefer says. "That said, we're moving forward and still making every effort to get them involved."

In the meantime, the Mithoefers anticipate finishing this latest study within three years. Teams in Switzerland, Israel, Jordan, Spain and Canada are in various stages of similar research.
